Which app is the best for handling group (MMS) texts?

I have been using Textra and it has been locking up stating the MMS message can't be sent or retrieved. I was also getting messages from others in the group way after the text was originally sent.

My family all have iphones and don't want to have to use a separate app (WhatsApp) for group texting. Is there a way I can participate in a group text and it not get bogged down?

This is the reason I keep going back to the iPhone. I really love this phone though and hoping there is a fix or solution that has come about since I was last with Android.

I also bounce back and forth between iOS and Android. Unfortunately there's not much to compare to iMessage. I found that Google's Android Messages works pretty well. I have a group chat with my kids that's been ongoing for 2 years (they all have iPhones) and I can jump in and out of different phones and the chat carries on with no issues. Plus you can now send and receive messages from your PC via Android Messages.

There are certainly things I don't care for with AM, like how you aren't able to assign custom SMS tones to someone until a thread is created, but I understand that limitation is also in Samsung Messages now due to a change Google made.

Many on the forum use Textra. I used it for a while, but I can't speak to how well it deals with MMS or group chats.

I've been using Yaata for about a year or two now. Never any problems, and I have about seven different group texts going. It also is ridiculously customizable (I've used Textra and Chomp in the past).

I had tried using Android Messages. I don't like how you can only archive messages from the main screen and then have to delete them one by one from the archives. Seems to be too much work to delete a message. Unless I am missing something on how to delete a message from the main screen. I am OCD and don't like the idea of all these old messages building up in the archives file.

My main app is Textra, but I've also been using Mood, too. I think only Samsung Messages and Android Messages work with RCS, though, for now. When all carriers and apps finally support RCS, then i think it'll be as close to a universal iMessage as possible.

From the main screen, you should be able to long-press the thread and then select delete.
