Looking to pickup a battery wall charger for the droid x and a couple spare oem batteries.

Feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Aaron

Well I'm assuming you dont have the oem wall charger so just a stock replacement will do. If your looking for spare oem batteries well there's your answer. If your looking for an extended battery there a few good threads in here on that. You have the moto extended, the Seidio and the Gorilla Gadgets. Check out our store here at AC its got everything you need.

I'm actually using the wall wart from the Crapberry my DX replaced. Wall current on one side and USB power output on the other. So basically, anything that outputs to a USB Micro jack and is from a known source should be good.

I've heard from a friend that the Seidio monster battery blocks GPS reception on the X, so you will probably want to not use it. Even if you do not use GPS navigation on the X, you will still need to receive GPS signals for any location-aware app you use. I'm using the Moto extended battery, which really should be the stock battery, model BH6X. It's 1800 mAh vs the stock's 1500 mAh, and is a fraction of a millimeter thicker. Just thicker enough to make the battery door a tight squeeze, but it will fit. And after taking the door on and off a few times, it'll loosen up.

I use the Moto extended battery, it seemed to do the trick for me, plus you have your oem battery as a backup... just charge it up. If you do get the moto extended battery it actually comes with a new battery door that fits better than the original would with the thicker battery. The door puts a small lip on the back, but that is better than squishing your components maybe causing screen problems.

I got the Moto extended battery from Android Central, and it did not come with a replacement door.

Go with the Seidio wall charger, you will still be able to use it years down the line when you have a new phone.

As for batteries, the only thing I would suggest is OEM. The BH6X works great for me, but make sure you get it with a new door.

The new door isn't strictly necessary. I got the BH6X in with the stock door. It was a squeeze, but it's in and I can get the door on and off. (Would have been nice if mine came with the replacement door, but oh well...)

Using the stock door with the BH6X is a bad idea. It ends up putting too much stress on the screen, and causes the battery to heat up more than it normally would. In the last ten months I have heard of three people out of dozens upon dozens (gordol being the third) that made it work without any signs of screen distortion, but in most cases the door won’t even come close to fitting over the BH6X. I tried to make it work with my phone but I had to stop forcing it because physical damage was imminent. If it works for you already then consider yourself lucky, if you haven’t bought the BH6X yet then you should buy the one that comes with the proper back. It’s only a couple bucks more than the battery that comes by itself.

Last week, I ordered the door via Amazon. I had not initially considered the compression factor on how hot the battery can get.

Anyone have a spare door for the Gorilla Gadgets 3500mah? The guy who hooked me up w a free battery & door for helping boost sales(think it was early spring) doesnt work there anymore and the "lovely female CSR" im dealing with now wont budge on my story. Nor will she sell just a door.
Mine just comes off on its own now. The tiny teeth at the top part dont stick in the frame anymore. Ty.

I use an extra, stock battery that I rotate in and out with the original one. I'm also using the charger I had with my previous BB for travel purposes. In fact, I just keep it in my travel bag all of the time so I don't forget it.
