Best way to buy unlocked

Non doubt this is my next phone however I want a Edge but also need it unlocked. What do you guys think would be the best route to take? Buy unlocked from a Carrier like t-mo or Verizon and does anyone have any idea if that's a easy process?

You need to decide what carrier you're going to use it on first. Then you can pick a compatible model and the best way to buy.

I'm using it on Cricket which is basically AT&T but I heard Verizon phones were pre unlocked so that's why I was considering just going to Verizon

If you buy it from Verizon you'll be stuck with Verizon service and the high price to match. Plus, I assume that you want an unlocked phone so you have the possibility of using it on another carrier. But a Verizon version may not be compatible with another service, such as Cricket/AT&T.

Personally, I always buy unlocked but I would never buy from Verizon.
