I'm a new Android game developer, looking for good ways of reaching gamers who might be interested in my games. What's the best way you've found to discover Android games in your favorite genres? Just keep searching the Play Store periodically, or read game review sites and company blogs, or seeing an ad in another game, or just rely on hearing about them from friends?

Could you help me learn more, by taking five minutes for my online survey about the ways Android gamers discover their favorite games, and Android vs iOS gamer comparisons? It's at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/mobile-gaming-awareness

A Kindle Fire will be given as a prize to one randomly-chosen survey participant, at the end of the period (June 29). So far I've only had 150 responses, so your odds of willing are way better than your typical lottery. :-)

If you've got other suggestions on ways to discover your favorite kinds of games, please post them here. Thanks!

I read reviews from the play market and word of mouth. Also on android central lots of people make suggestions.

OK, thanks guys! One thing I'm seeing from the initial responses is that Android gamers are much more likely to find what they want by searching the Play Store. Searching the iTunes App Store is a disaster, in comparison. The Play Store actually shows two lines of description for each search result, and also has "users who installed this also installed..." iTunes only shows the icon and title. Blech!

Hi!

Just to share, I've been using this app called Applorer which I downloaded for free from Google Play. I didn't play many games on my mobile previously (more of a console gamer) but when I tried this app i found it much easier to get games that i want to play instead of having to trawl through loads of random apps. The games that are featured on this app are all free and are around 7-10/10 standard! i'd recommend it to everyone who faces the same problem that i did. :)

To add on, I also read review sites to find good new releases! I think it's good if you can get such sites to review your games and spread the word about them to all their readers! Facebook's also a good avenue to reach out to others :)
