When switching from iOS to Android I really missed how all my notifications would drop down from the screen. Now I just get a sound and I have to manually move the notification bar down. Edge lighting somewhat fixed this but it's not what I was expecting. I'm on the S10.

On my Tab S3 (running Pie), I can go in to the Notifications menu in Settings and for each app you can set the notification style. Some apps will allow granular adjustment, allowing you to adjust if you get a pop-up, sound, notification dot, etc. Some apps don't support the pop-up style notification.

Go to Settings, Applications, select the app you want to pop up on screen and select as circled.
Good luck
