I am expected to receive my Incredible tomorrow, verizon sent me the email other day stating that my phone had been shipped. I currently have a Blackberry Curve 8330 with alltel, what is the best way to get all my numbers transferred to my incredible other than doing it manually? If I go to the verizon store will they do this for me?

set up google on your bb and backup your contacts calender notes etc. have a gmail address set up all so..

I just exported a .csv from desktop manager with ASCII Importer/Exporter, and added it to my Gmail contacts. Soon as I got my phone, it was the fastest device set-up my co-workers ever seen. ;)

I had the Curve 8330 from VZW.

google sync?
Yeah. Google sync on your BB. Once you have a gmail account setup and register that account in your current phone, run the sync and it will write all your contacts to that gmail account. If you have calendar info, you can set that up too. But you don't have to for the contacts to transfer correctly.

google sync is the best way.

if you go to the verizon store they will do it for you too, but i'd recommend the sync route.

what files are you referring to?

they will do it for you at the store. (one less thing you have to worry about)

if you go the google sync way, there are no files to "transfer", you will just sync your bb to gmail and then sync your Inc when you get it. After that, as long as you leave the sync enabled, you will never have to worry about it again; the two will always be in sync.

bigpetefox's advice is also good. exporting to csv/xls is a nice way to have a fail safe contact list that is viewable and importable into almost any format/device.

back up assistant did the job for my GF. It was in the instructions that came with the device.
