I downloaded Spotify to my phone because I can play songs of my choosing easier than with Pandora. I want to be able to play it through my car's audio. I had an Iphone 4 that had an adapter in my car (BMW 335i) that would let me plug in the phone and play it through the auxillary.

Do I need to get an adapter, or just a Iphone to Android adapter off ebay? Or can I blue tooth the phone to play through the audio that way? If so, steps? Thanks

Use Bluetooth: Go to Settings App, then select Bluetooth. Turn it on at the top, then press "Scan for devices." Wait for your car receiver to appear (assuming it's Bluetooth enabled). You may be prompted for a pin. If so, try "0000" Once connected, you're good to go.

By "Sound Bar", I assume you mean the one used for your TV. Some have Bluetooth, follow the same procedure above. Or, use a cable to connect your phone to the aux input on the sound bar. Or, my favorite, "cast" the audio to a Chromecast connected to the TV. However, I don't believe Spotify supports the Chromecast.

Dyphx:

I have my HTC paired with the BMW. It works fine for phone calls. I used the cable that one would charge the phone through the wall, and plugged it into the console just as if I had my Iphone. Radio does not recognize it. There is no way to use a Media or other setting on the phone in bluetooth to get Spotify to play through the car radio off the phone.

I was thinking of this product:

Docking 30 Pin Female to Micro USB Male Adapter Charger for Apple iPhone 4 4S | eBay

I would plug in the cord that came with the car that allowed the Iphone to play through the audio (it has a USB end and a headphone jack on one side that plugs into the console, and the other side is the male end that would plug into the Iphone. This adapter, just maybe would be plugged onto where the cord plugged into the Iphone and then the USB male end into my HTC One. It says in its description it would not work on audio. But I guess that is what the headphone jack part did.

I've always used Bluetooth to play Spotify through my Ford Focus radio since I got the phone. You shouldn't need any special adapters to do it.
