Best way to Root N1 2.2.1

Hi yall,

I did the quick root method to my phone to get SU access so I can use Tasker to reboot my phone once a week. Well since 2.2.1 has fixed that security hole I've lost root access.

So what's the best way to gain root access to my phone yet I want to maintain the stock firmware for now and maintain OTA updates.

I've done a lot of reading, but I'm not quite sure what's the best way to go.
