Hey Androids,

Let's get to the point, we all love Androids but we wish we had something like BBM.

PingChat! is your solution. It is the FIRST fully functional cross platform instant messenger. With over 1.5 million users it will not be long before Pinging is the new BBMing.

Our android version is pretty much complete and we are looking for beta testers. Blackberry is in its final beta stages and iPhone has been on the market for over a year now.

What can we do?
Instant messages
Sent and read notifications
Image messaging
Video messaging
Voice note sending
Location sending (coming soon to android and blackberry - available on iPhone)
Add friends by use of a username instead of a complicated pin (Who wants to memorize 101ea13d when you can remember something like "Chad".

HOW TO BETA:
Join this Facebook Page: PingChat Android Beta

Teaser Video:

We will send out invite information to these testers. Here you can post bugs and discuss any changes you would like made. Get Pinging!

I used this ALOT on the iPhone and was one of the first apps i looked for when i turned to Droid! Count me in as a tester!

Cheers,

Just signed up looks like something I'd like. Will try to get some other users as well to join.

Signed up...I saw the video but it didn't show if it shows the received or delivered signal for each message. Not sure if this is possible outside of BBM.

Is there any way to sign up without fb...I dont nor do i plan on getting on fb ever but would love to test this program

At work, so I can't really check it out yet but will this allow creating groups like BBM 5? This was a great feature for our company when we were all using BlackBerrys.

Very disappointing program.

Where's the notification icon so people don't have to click on a program shortcut all the time to access the software or see if the software is still connected?

There's also a 1-2 second delay in sending a message, which can become quite annoying if you are in a conversation.

The deal-breaker for me is the fact that you can't add any other messaging services to pingchat (like msn, google talk, skype, etc.). This means that I would have to use more than one IM program at the same time. Not very practical.

its not supposed to me an IM app but rather a free texting app. 1-2 second delay?? are you serious? thats not bad, is it?

But what makes it different from an IM app?

Yes, 1-2+ seconds to send a message. When you hit send I get a grey screen overlay with a "checking..." loading icon in the middle of the screen and then another wait icon on the message when I send it.

Not including other messenging services seems like a definite downer. It'd be nice if it included those as well as the cross device functionality.

i've been searching and using many different types of messaging apps. I would like to give this a try as well.
