Outside of the google play store, where can I buy the GSM version than comes set up EXACTLY as it does from the Google Play store. I mean in the way where you dont have to root it or change anything to make it work on all GSM carriers. I looked on Amazon but it was $400

Thanks.

Just buy from the Play Store. There's no other place I'd ever recommend. Best price, full warranty, you know it's "takju" and gets updates. Everything.

FWIW though, every GSM Galaxy Nexus you find will be pentaband and unlocked (only a couple carriers in the world lock them), meaning they all run on any GSM carrier in the world.

Yeah, AFAIK, there's no cheaper way to get the unlocked GSM GNex new in a box with a full warranty. I even poked around on eBay before I ordered mine to see if anyone had it cheaper, but in many cases, sellers were still asking north of $400 for a new one.

The phone should run under $400 after taxes and shipping from the Play Store.

I bought mine from the play store and it arrived dead in arrival... Been in a hassle with Samsung since it got delivered the 12th. From false promises of overnight shipping, to incorrectly putting in the wrong address. I won't get it back till the 17th.
Was excited about it but now I am just disapointed beyond belief.

Well, in all fairness, DOA can happen with any electronic device. But a wait a minute: if your Nexus arrived DOA, shouldn't Google be the one to exchange it? They do have a 15-day return policy, which I presume would apply to a DOA product exchange.

I thought that too but apparently because it is a repair issue and that I didn't want to return it and wait for a refund then order another one they transferred me over to Samsung... sounds like they are getting swamped with not only the phone but the tablet and are looking for any excuse to transfer the blame. Just frustrated.

Just so you know, I had 3 phone dead on arrival when I first got my Nexus. The beauty about buying from Best Buy is not only that they gave it to me for $150 at the time but all I had to do was drive back to the store. Samsung definitely had some quality control issues on this phone with the first batch. Thats one thing you gotta give to Apple, they rarely make those types of mistakes.

That is why I prefer to buy certain things locally. Keep in mind that I buy about 95% of stuff online at this point.

I wish I could buy it locally unlocked and all without a contract for the stated Google price but alas not everything in life is good.
