Better data consumption

Anybody else experiencing their note 3 not pulling much data in the background?

I had a LG G2 for a little while and it would pull 30 MB for Android OS alone a hour. It really adds up after a few days. My note 3 only consumes maybe 1-2 MB a hour and that's with me using it. While on standby or no usage it never goes over 1 MB. My old G2 would pull 15 MB a hour even when it was not being used.

Why do you think the note 3 is so much better? Also note that the settings are virtually the same with both devices having sync on, location services on, etc.

I came from the LGOG and the data consumption in that one was the same way once I updated to JB. I could eat up 200mb in a day without using it. Custom roms were the same as stock so I always assumed it was shortcoming with the radio

At this point I probably won't do a custom Rom. My note 3 has good battery life, good data usage, and Verizon really didn't mess with the device that much as far as features go. No need for another rom.
