Yea, I cant change carriers cuz I can only get Verizon where I live so the credits didn't bother me and the chances of something new coming out that I just had to have are pretty slim.

For me, I too probably won't be changing carriers. I don't like bill credits because it basically locks a line so if say an even better deal came out, I couldn't use that line to upgrade.

I tend to pay the phones off right away when there are no bill credits involved.

I don't like bill credits either but we need Verizon for the best coverage. I bought my Z3 direct from Motorola with a discount but bill credits work well for my wife who will be fine with the phone for two years.

Was your Z3 specific to Verizon or an unlocked version? I'm trying to understand the functional differences between an unlocked phone on Verizon vs. the Verizon branded version of the same phone.
