betterbattery stats!

just bought this and its some what intimidating to look at, can someone give me a quick run down of what i should be looking for and what the colors blue/red mean

i got it because sometimes my phone even when idle has 100% awake, and heard this will look for wake locks

but i also want it so i can see how much battery apps drain can i see that using this app?
