Bezel suddenly visible on Watch 7

All I did this evening was change my screen protector on my Watch 7, and suddenly there's a full black bezel around the screen where there wasn't one before (and one of the reasons I liked it). I checked the Techradar review and it still says "less visible bezel". Any idea how/why and if I can get rid of it again? If it's been there a while today's the first time I noticed (I accept this is probably what's happened but it looks so obvious against my watch faces), and I'm just waiting to do the One UI 8 update (needing to charge it up a bit). TIA.

It could be that the bezel just blended in with the watch face colours that you had before.
try switching back and see if it goes away

Haven't changed my watch face, it's a light-ish coloured GIF that I've used ever since I've had the watch. I've switched to a standard watch face and it's still there. It's definitely something that's appeared, one of the reasons I liked the watch better was because there was little/no bezel. First world problems and all that.

Okay well it wouldn't be a bezel since a bezel is a physical thing and does not miraculously just appear. It could be that somehow you turned on an accessibility feature like zoom or assistive touch.

probably the virtual bezel the OP's referencing. not visible to me at all with a dark face. light face? it's there, clear as day.
