Hi all.

I'm back on android and Windows 10 after years with iPhone and Macintosh. I'm trying to figure out the best solution to get my photos where I want them. On my iphone if I took a picture it would show up in Apple Photos on MacOS without me having to do anything. Same thing with Photos on the Mac, I take some DSLR pics and they show up on my phone in full resolution. Later on in the day if I want to edit the pictures on my phone (say on an airplane) with no WIFI I can do so and they will sync directly back to my mac when I get internet again. Is there something similar i can do with android and Windows 10? Google Photos would be good but all the pictures remain in the cloud which I wouldn't care but I want 100% of the photos on my phone's internal disk and in my Windows 10 installation. Also Windows Photos app leaves some to be desired especially when it comes to file management, compared to the Old Picasa I used to use years ago for sorting photos on my PCs of Yore.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I use Onedrive for the backup from the Note and also keep my Pictures folder available offline on the note.
Works well

Maybe u can try Photos Companion made by Microsoft, it sync with the Photos app on windows 10. But the sync is not happening automatically, ur phone and ur windows devices need to be connected to the same network, and u will have to manually transfer the photo from ur phone to windows manually, and vice versa. For more details, u can look for Photos Companion in the play store.

Alternatively, like others mentioned, just installed onedrive on ur phone and set the photos on ur phone auto sync to onedrive, and set the onedrive on ur windows PC to sync automatically and have a offline copy, this way allows u to edit the photos on ur windows device when there is no internet. All the files u saved at onedrive will be automatically sync online when the windows devices connected to internet.
