When I got the Note 8 I move my old micro sd card to it and everything was good. So once my new Samsung EVO 128gb card came in I did a transfer from one card to another then checked to see that everything was there, and it was all. When I inserted the new card in the phone the folders were there but they were all empty. So I took the new card back out. and put it back in my computer and all the folders were empty. By the way I put my old sd card back in the Note 8 and all the files are still there.

Put the new card in your phone, format it, take it out and transfer all the data back to it and reinsert into phone. I always format the card in the device first to prevent issues like this from happening.

I put the 256 gb card that had all my media on it from the Note 7 in, and it worked fine, no problems. I had formatted it in the Note 7. Once a card is in, I rarely take it out, those little drawers are flimsy. I plug the phone into the laptop and transfer that way, or use the otg adaptor on a thumb drive. I tried the side sync app (if that is the right name for it, it's a Samsung app) but it didn't work well with my Windows 10 laptop.

Seconded. :)

I do this to.

Same here. I barely if ever take it out once it's in.

I'm using the same SanDisk 128GB MicroSD I had in my Note 4 and S7 Edge after that. Working perfectly in my Note8. I am waiting for 256GB cards to get cheaper.
