Bike Rider/Music Lover Needs To Enable "Google Now" Through my Headphones While the Phone is Locked

Hi fellow Android Users,

Firstly, thank you in advance for your help. I am an owner of a Samsung Galaxy S4. I love listening to music while riding my bike and I have a huge music selection. So naturally, when I found out that I could stream my entire iTunes library using Google Play and switch between songs with voice commands using Google Now, I jumped at the opportunity to install Google Now.

I am loving Google Now, however it has one fatal flaw. While holding down on the inline mic button on my headphones, the voice command prompt works just fine. But while the phone is LOCKED (which it is most of the time), nothing happens. This is useless to me since I have to lock my phone while it's in my pocket during my bike rides. There must be some way around this. I really don't want to have to go back to S Voice. Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to Android Central. Try Open Mic+, which is supposed to be like the new Moto X's "always on" voice recognition. Be aware, though, that it can contribute to battery drain, especially if you plan on streaming music over mobile data as well.
