Does anyone know if the Bionic's 4.3 inch display with have the same aspect ratio as the Droid X or the Droids (1 or 2)? By this I mean a little taller and thinner (in portrait) than other screens of the same diagonal length. I actually prefer the "normal" slightly wider (portrait) aspect ratios.

I haven't been able to tell from the pics. Thanks in advance.

Yes, all qHD screens have the same aspect as the droid X which mean's it's taller in portrait mode than 480x800 screens. So a 4.3" qHD screen will be taller but narrower than the Thunderbolt or EVO even though they're both 4.3"

Although not directly applicable to screen aspect ratio, I thought this was interesting. Here are the physical dimensions of the the Bionic and Droid X.

Bionic: 4.96 x 2.63 x 0.52 (125.9 x 66.9 x 13.3 mm)
Droid X: 5.02 x 2.58 x 0.39 (127.5 x 65.5 x 9.9 mm)

They're obviously very close in dimensions except for the thickness. But the Bionic is slightly wider, but not quite as tall.

Thanks all. Oh well. I guess it will be a bit easier to hold still, although I would have preferred the slightly wider aspect ratio.

Thanks again.

Assuming square pixels, the bionic will be the same 16x9 aspect ratio as most TV sets available today.

Yep. That's why they designate it as a qHD screen (quarter HD). It's half the width and height of a standard 1080p screen, which is 1920x1080. It would take 4 qHD screens to make up a full 1080p, thus "quarter".

There were rumors a while back of HTC coming out with the WXGA screen resolution, but now it looks like they too are coming out qHD on the Pyramid. Except for movies, I too like the wider portrait screens. Hope WXGA is still in the works.

WXGA? Not a chance that's coming anytime soon. Displays with the pixel density of the Retina Display are still scarce; qHD is close, but still not anywhere near it.

Funny I was going to put an old DX screen protector on the wifes bolt but just before I did I noticed that the radio was different. I think I like the bolts ratio better for everyday use, but they are pretty close
