Bixby can't hear me (solved)

In trying to train Bixby Voice wake-up in settings, it continually said that it can't hear me unless I shouted into the microphone, and even then it was hit-or-miss. I could eventually get through the entire training sequence this way, but I still couldn't get it to wake up the phone outside of voice wake-up training. Bixby had no problem hearing me, though, when I used the button to trigger it. I tried clearing the cache for all Bixby services. I also cleared memory as well as cache for all Bixby services and set up Bixby from scratch. No luck. It almost felt like there was something interfering with the microphone. I checked to make sure I didn't have Cortana installed, but then I checked and found Amazon Alexa was installed. I force-stopped Alexa, uninstalled it, then restarted the phone. Lo and behold, Bixby can now hear me!

I had the same problem, my solution was to remove google widget, the one that answer to "ok google"

That's where we differ. Both Bixby and OK Google are co-existing and they don't seem to interfere with each other on my phone. As I said above, it was Cortana and Alexa that were causing my issue.

Try uninstalling Alexa.

Alexa doesn't come pre-installed. I only mentioned it because I DID have it installed and I needed to uninstall both Cortana and Alexa to get Bixby to hear me.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Amazon shopping so now Alexa is not active but I still can't get Bixby to respond to the long press

not sure if this is why but just going to my Bixby seems to have fixed it
