What I thought was maybe gonna be useful has became this irritating thing on my otherwise perfect phone.
And it's right by the button that you use to turn things DOWN?
If I accidentally press that bitchy button, then loudmouth just launches herself up from the grave and starts rattling like that irritating cousin that wants to be part of your life.
But I still have me some deep love the Note 4, even if it's abrupt voice makes me start poking buttons and say irreverent things.

Lmao. I like bixby but I do get annoyed at times cause it will open up when I'm listening to music without headphones and sometimes while watching a video. Sometimes she wakes while my Samsung tv is on lol. Like earlier, I was watching the iPhone reveal and I can't tell you how many times bixby opened up lmao. Like its saying I know you ain't watching an iPhone reveal? Well bixby won cause I quit watching. Was just curious as to what it looks like that is all.

Just hold down that button and say "mute Bixby voice". Problem solved.

Ferreal? She'll shut up forever? Or just for awhile. She seems to have a mind of her own. I don't want to **** her off really. YOu know they can hold a grudge. Then one night, at 3 am, she comes on and says to me...
'Have you checked the children?!'

She has her own volume control. You can turn her way down or silence her altogether. Her slider is separate from media, notifications and phone. Switching from mute or vibrate to sound won't unmute her.

Talking TO our phones

I might pick mine up while driving and hit the google button and say 'Navigate to so and so' if I'm in an unfamiliar area.
Or 'how old is Robert Dinero?' after leaving a movie.
But, really, Bixby, Siri, Google, Bob, whatever, do we all actually talk TO our phones very much? I know that it has abundant commands.
But, we're not launching rockets with our phones.
It's a cool option yes, but the novelty quickly wears off and the voice command gig is more of a toy than something useful.
I mean, you're in a waiting line in Walmart and you pick your phone up and say 'Bixby, open my email'?
Folks turning around looking at you like, really, you lazy a$$, you can't even open your own email?

Talking TO our phones

I talk to google assistant every day, mostly use it for controlling my home devices like nest, hue bulbs and in car asking driving directions etc. It's become natural to me for certain tasks. The most important thing was always on listening on devices which changed my usage of Google assistant. I also got used to it probably because I also have Google home and Alexa with which I interact a bit as well.

Re: Talking TO our phones

I've been talking to my phone as long as I can remember. It didn't start talking back to me until I had the Windows Phone 8.1 preview back a few years ago :) Now I chat up my Google home every morning. It's silly I know, but when the wife is out of town, it's nice to hear someone else's voice around the place lol

Re: Talking TO our phones

Your wife should be happy to know it's only the phone talking to you

Re: Talking TO our phones

I don't talk to my phone and it doesn't talk to me except in specific circumstances.

Re: Talking TO our phones

All right I'll admit it. When I'm at work I actually work on the patio outdoors so that people can't hear me talking to Bixby. Weird it may be, but to me the novelty hasn't quite worn off yet. :)
