Any word yet on whether Bixby is anything other than the complete waste of time that it's always been? Why samsung continues to push this in such a major way is a real head scratcher. They have to know that they are no match for Google in the software department. And to devote an entire hardware button to this nonsense on a device with only four physical buttons is hard to comprehend (or justify).

Any word yet on if Bixby is worth even considering and, probably of greater relevance, can you now remap this button to do something that might be actually useful?

Yes. It's called bxActions. There are a bunch of threads about it.

Yes, you can remap it to do something else. There is official support for it from Samsung.
However, dont dismiss Bixby that easily as it is a great voice assistant (not in the usual sense of the word). It does phone navigation much better than any other assistant out there.

I believe remapping will come in a future update but yes the word is that Samsung is finally allowing official support for it.

I read in the new phones you'll be able to remap the button one or two clicks one for bixby and two for whatever else or the other way around. I need to check out Bixby again since my pie update.

Samsung is a joke of a company. I spent hours with support and doing my own research to finally find bxActions. And all they had to do was allow support staff to be honest.
FYI, I wanted to remove Bixby. Support helped all they were allowed and bxActions remapped the button.
