Just as an FYI! For you Blackmagic fans. The Blackmagic Camera app is available in Google Play. It is a free download with no advertisements.

I installed it and it is pretty freaking powerful. It lets you record 8K video. I haven't played with all of the controls yet.

That's a plus it's Free and no advertising , I prefer the stock camera app and it records in 8k , but hopefully others find it as an alternative. Thanks for posting

I've been using Black Magic Camera as my main video camera for the past week. I will say it is a lot better than the stock camera in Pro Video mode. In particular, it allows you to use the ultra-wide camera, where as the stock camera in Pro Video mode does not. The recording quality is superb. The learning curve can be a tad steep if you are not familiar Black Magic products.

I don't think I'll have much use for this on my phone, but i got curious and checked. Apparently it's showing not compatible for the Sony Xperia 1V, which is a flagship phone. I'm going to guess they see Sony as a competitor, which has a heck of an OEM camera app, so they blacklisted it. Lol

I don't think they blacklisted Sony. Give it some time. It was just released a month ago and was updated a week and a half ago. They have to test it with multiple phones with variety of hardware.
