Has anyone done this, if so, how does it look?

I want the Panda but those wait times don't look too good!

I was bumming about the wait time for the Panda color scheme as well until I realized I'd have a case on it and the color of the phone won't really be relevant.

I'd recommend Slickwraps for adding a skin to your device. I ended up not getting a Pixel 2 but loved the look of the Panda. The skin worked out well on my G6, only I don't have a white FPS. So I needed to extend the black down a bit to include it.

I imagine the same would go for the black P2XL.

Pretty clever, can you take a pic without the case ?

Just FYI, mine is a Dbrand. Slickwraps has repeatedly taken forever to ship out my orders and for that reason have lost my business. I tried giving them another chance with a pixel 2 skin that I ordered on Oct 17 and im still waiting for shipment.

Hello,

We apologize for the delay. We are implementing new processes and machines to same-day ship by Nov 1st. DM us your order #, happy to credit that for you. Have a Good Day!

Ive sent a PM requesting a refund and cancellation of order. Shortly after I received a shipping notice.

I really like that. Making my decision even harder now. On the fence of just getting the black colour and throwing a skin on it. How do they usually hold up? Do they tend to peel away from the corners after some use?

If done correctly no. They usually hold up very well.

Looks pretty cool. Think they can make a skin for the button? :P

They actually do skins for the button, but the FPS functionality will be lost. That's a deal breaker for me, so that's why I extended the black area of the skin down past the FPS.

Also, after applying the skin, it is recommended to use a hair dryer or heat gun to tighten up the corners.
This is perfectly fine and removal of the skin does not leave behind any residue.

^^ I did this on my Nexus 6 when I first got it (day of release) and now, 3 years later, it still looks like the carbon fiber skin was OEM (it was used for its first 2 years as my 'daily driver' and now, after being replaced by the Pixel XL, has been relegated to around the house use / mobile video / 2nd screen when gaming, etc on the Pixel XL (and now, Pixel 2 XL)).

I just got my Slickwraps skin in, will try to find time later today to apply it and post results.

I cropped this from another post.
