Hello. I am planning to buy a phone very soon. But I am really confused between Blackberry Q10 and Moto X.
It looks like Moto X has bigger screen size, better features, better O.S with a lots of Apps but in other hand, Blackberry Q10 has got its own unique style and body which makes it look very Royal.
Please help.

If you need apps without the time for sdeloading, go with the Moto X. Q10 is smaller screen. If you want to look at Blackberry, look at either the Z10, or Z30 models. If you ABSOLUTELY need a keyboard then the Q10 is the best option, until the Q20 "Classic" is released.

Blackberry has left the consumer smartphone business/market, afaik. Blackberry is effectively dead. The Q10 is its last model. And Google sold Motorola a few weeks ago at a massive loss to Lenovo. Its future is uncertain.

So with those 2 you have the weakest competitors possible you plan on choosing to buy a phone from. That's not a good plan, imo. I suggest you choose a phone of one of the big brands: Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, Huawei, etc. etc.

Have you had chance to use both devices? The Moto X is a great device and I think you'll be happy with it. If possible, stop by a local store and see if you can get some hands on time.

This poll could just as easily be "BBQ10 or anything else?"

I would avoid BB like the plague at this point.

A few things about that comment;
#1 z30 was the most recent thus making your statement already invalid.
#2 they already have a z3 being released for developing countries in the next 2 months.
#3 like the poster above you stated, they also stated a q20 classic is in the works for this year. They also reinsured people that more devices are in the works.

With all that said, I own a q10 and a s4. If alot of apps are important for you, id stick with android. If you want to try something new id suggest BB10, the newest software update (10.2.1) improves the flow of the UI by heaps. The update also allows you to download third party app stores such has Amazon app-store which would help you get some apps that BB World do not offer such as netflix and various banking apps.

Ouch!
I've yet to see one in the wild, though...

Ma?ana.

Yeah, I can see BB is a smashing success in the last couple years.

Just like HTC, Motorola, and pretty much anyone who is not Samsung, Apple, and to an extent LG and Lenovo. If remember correctly those 4 are the big 4 manufacturers for smart phones for the world. BlackBerry despite whatever it has gone through is still pushing out support for their devices and is still making new devices, don't let this turn into a bash "BlackBerry because BlackBerry" thread.

I actually had this slight dilemma when I upgraded in December. I love the Q10s premium look and feel, and typing on it brings back memories of the older keyboard phones I used to use. If I had known then that the Q10 and Z30 were going to get the ability to use android apks I might I have gotten a BlackBerry, but I got the Moto X because I wanted a mice phone to use one handed. The Z30 (while attractive) is little top large for my hands, similar I'm size to the Droid Maxx. The Q10 while one handed friendly, has the smaller screen. One thing I do on my phone is browse the web a lot and I think the smaller screen would have been counter intuitive to the way I use my smartphone so, I got the Moto X. But then again you also have to figure what you want the most: Don't mind a smaller screen, a nice physical keyboard, and a more (arguably) productive and robust operating system, then a Q10 for you. Want more customization and like the extra features of the Moto X like Touchless Controls and Active Display? Get the Moto X.

well...actually, Motorola will keep normal support and update cycle for both Moto X and Moto G and they will keep all current projects!

we will only see the results of Lenovo+Motorola past 2015...also, Moto will keep acting "independtly" under Lenovo wings, like it was with Google (yeps, it was revealed they actually had little participation on both X and G)

so there's absolutely no reason for not buying a Moto X and saying it is because of Lenovo is a poor one...they are actually a strong company

I have my glasses on and I see the results of the past 2 years under Google: 10 BILLION value loss.

Small wonder: Lenovo doesn't want to risk to be dragged down by Motorola and drown itself too.

Yes, Lenovo is a strong company. Not Motorola. If Motorola had been a strong company Google wouldn't have sold it at a 10 BILLION loss.

There were quite a few articles floating around that showed how Google came out better by selling Motorola. They got a lot of value patents from Motorola and then some.

so? Google got valuable patents AND project ARA! actually, this was their interest from the very beginning!

Moto X and G were and are a success and only a blind person can't see that lol

specially Moto G, it became the best budget you can have!

i really don't know why u wanna downgrade Moto so much lol they launched 2 great smartphones and Google prolly didn't care about losing 10B...they got what they wanted in the end

That explains it.

Then you need to re-read the OP: he is planning on perhaps buying one (his first smartphone?) and asking our advice. And my advice is DON'T BUY MOTOROLA OR BLACKBERRY BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WEAKEST SMARTPHONE BRANDS TODAY!

"Lol"...?

Google prolly didn't care about losing 10B...they got what they wanted in the end

You think they wanted to lose 10 BILLION bucks?
Yeah, that IS funny.

I may be a bit biased but I think the Moto X is one of the best smartphones you can buy today and along with the HTC One has the best build quality on an Android phone. Also some posters on here are freaking out as if Motorola is effectively done, which is wild conjecture, and make the illogical jump to say that if you buy a Moto X the phone will be useless. That's not true, the phone will still run Android, which last time I checked is not a useless OS, and you should get many years of use out of it even if you don't upgrade from Kitkat (I know a couple of people who still have Gingerbread on their phones and they work/run for them just fine). I'm not sure if the same can be same for the Blackberry.

I have a moto x and I am very happy with all the features it has, go for it bro

You know what happens when people with a lack of information and lack of knowledge of business and economics think they know it all? They're always wrong. That's what happens.

Google didn't LOSE 10 billion dollars. They kept the patents. The kept a lot of other assets.
If you buy a house for 500k and then sell all the doors of that house for 10k did you just lose 490k?
