BV Launcher has stopped working…

What to do step by step (but quickly — in less than one minute — starting from step 3):

1/
Remove the SIM cards
  • Carefully open the SIM/SD slot using your fingernail by lifting the side with the small gap.
  • Gently but fully push into the small hole using the dedicated pin or a thin paper clip.
  • Gently pull out the SIM tray with your fingernail, keeping the phone screen facing upward (BV5200) or downward (BV6600, etc.) so the cards do not fall out.
  • Remove the two SIM cards and place them on a clean surface.

2/ With “Try Again” displayed on the screen, press the side power (on/off) button.
The phone restarts.

3/ After boot, as soon as a screen appears, swipe down to display the Options (Wi-Fi, etc.).
Tap the small gear icon “Settings” at the top right.
Wait for the Settings window to open.

4/ Scroll up the screen to reach “Apps & notifications”.
Then tap “Default apps”.
Then tap “Home app”.
Then tap “Nova Launcher”.

Press the three overlapping lines at the bottom.
Swipe the current window upward.
The home screen reappears.

The procedure to restore normal operation is complete.

Hope this helps !

Welcome to AC!

I'm a little confused here

This is for BV launcher and you select Nova as default launcher after those steps and why would need to remove sim card for launcher not working?

What device is this happening?

Hi,
When the Blackview launcher is not working (on any BV smartphone) you have very limited time to do what I explained (3/) before the death screen appears!
If you have one or two SIMs and they ask for some code to go on you lose precious time and, in my experience, you generally cannot do the process in due time!

Best

Ok makes sense now BV phone(Chinese Brand), did u try safe mode instead of going through these methods?

Hi,
Did not try safe mode ...
But it says :
"In Safe Mode, your BLACKVIEW device will only run essential system apps and no third-party apps will be active. This can help you troubleshoot if you suspect that a third-party app is causing issues with your device."

And the problem is BV launcher - THE essential system app - itself!!
best
