Question Blanking on boot-up

When I boot up my phone it starts work by making the screen blank so that it has to be woken up.
What is the point of this?

Which phone do you have?

When you say "boot up my phone," do you mean that you're doing a cold start from a powered off state? If so, then the lockscreen upon a cold start will often time out quickly (and there's usually no way to adjust the lockscreen timeout).
