Blindingly white navbar

At night when I'm driving and navigating (with Maps app) and the map has faded to black, I am totally distracted by the blindingly white navbar! Is there anyway to get rid of it or make it black?

Tap the dot on the left side nav bar twice. Swipe up from the bottom to get it back.
Unfortunately they removed the black colour due to some users suffering screen burn in.

Download Navbar Apps from the play store and set it to Black. That's really the only option unless you want to downgrade back to Nougat and download a custom apk to get the black Navbar option back in settings. It's absolutely ridiculous they took this option away. I always have my Navbar set to black and have yet to experience any burn in.

Lol you're welcome! I personally had to downgrade back to Nougat so I could use substratum again and black everything out. Having everything white just doesn't make sense at all, especially with an amoled screen.
