Does anyone know where I can get the CityID program that comes with the VZW Bloatware??? I know it sounds ridiculous but I actually like the way it works and use it frequently.

If you can't find it do a google search for "City Caller ID". It does the same thing and works pretty well. I think it originally was over at XDA but not positive.

Have you tried extracting the apk in the rooted stock update zip? If you download it from this thread and go into the system then app folder, cityID is right there. You'd most likely have to use root explorer or a similar app to put it in your system/app folder for it to work. To be honest, I haven't tried it, but that seems to work with most other bloat that people want to restore. Of course, you could always beg and plead with Adrynalyne to put it in a flashable zip for you.

just pull the APK file from the zip, put it on your sd card and install it through root explorer/my files/etc
Was unable to find the apk file in either update.zip. Does anyone know the name of the file specifically?? I searched all last night through those zips.
You know that it only works for 30 days then you need to pay for it, right? Somewhere i saw mentioned a free alternative, maybe that's what you are looking for?

If you go to the thread I linked to last night and download the first one listed, it's just rooted stock. Once you download it, use winrar or winzip to open it and go into the system folder. The first folder in there is the app folder. Open that and it holds all the apks for all the stock apps. Once you find CityID, you should be able to just extract it, then put it on the root of your SD card. I would say to just try installing it by clicking on it through my files before you go the root explorer route. Start easy then go more difficult, IMO.
I did as per your instructions Atom. I got root explorer and copied it into my system/app folder and when I went to install it was telling me install incomplete. Is there any special way that I need to install it? When I tried through myfiles it was saying the same exact thing.

Hmmmm... Let me try and see if i can figure that out... Sorry it's not working easily for you.
Once you move it to your system/app folder there's no need to install it. It should show up right away in your app drawer, if not, restart your phone.

Well unfortunately, I have tried all options and to no avail. I have even gone to the extent of adding it to the system/app folder of the zip file for the 1.3 rom and reflashed it. Nothing at all. Is there any other advice?? I may just have to go to one of the big guys and ask to make a zip or something.
