Hello,

An acquaintance of mine has a Samsung android phone - not sure what model. His has a block caller function - said it was native to his device.

I get a call about twice a week claiming to be my final notice on my credit card - obviously fake since it doesn't identify which card. I'd love to start adding numbers to a block list as I get a LOT of sales calls.

I see some apps for this but was wondering if that was a feature of our phone?

That is usually considered a bloatware type app put on by carrier or manufacture. Since GNex is a Pure Google phone and almost completely free of such apps I don't believe you will find it on there.

FYI I purchased one of these apps a year back and they work but seem to require a lot of maintenance to keep it catching the right calls.

Try searching for blacklist apps in Google play(market)

You can also go to My Verizon on the Internet, sign in, and Block up to 5 callers/texters. I was getting one of those "urgent message about your credit card" texts each day and it was stopped immediately.

You can send a call straight to VM. The number needs to be saved to contacts though.

The best app Ive found to block calls and texts is Mr Number. It will send calls to voicemail or pick up and hang up on them. It also blocks texts. Give it a try I highly recommend it and its free.

Thanks. I hope this will stop some obscene pix and texts I just started to receive from a number with which I am not acquainted. :)
