Blocky video on Periscope

Is anyone else experiencing blocky, heavily compressed video on Periscope with their Galaxy S5? I've just started using it and I'm watching other people's high res videos and wondering why my S5 with its HD camera capable of recording 4K HD is broadcasting video of awful quality whether it's on full strength 4G or wifi.

Haven't tried on the GS5, but that sounds like exactly what I was getting on the LG G4. Nexus 6 on M is working well, FWIW.

I am having same problem on Note 4. Can take standalone video just fine, but broadcasting is terrible grainy on good wifi.

Been trying to figure this out for weeks. I've done videos on both ios and my note 4. The note is VERY blocky and pixelated (very large pixels). I assumed it's the lack of love for the android platform.
