Blu Life One (2015, X010Q) Just..."Up-N-Died..."

I am having a day.

Last evening, plugged in the Blu Life One (2015, X010Q) into my computer for overnight charging - FWIW, it's been working like a champ, no problems whatsoever. This morning, was a bit rushed so pulled it from the computer, heard the "du-dum" of the disconnect, ran to the car, hopped in, and took off. While heading out through my development, I flipped open the case, and saw the phone was down, tapping the power button did nothing.

So I pulled over, plugged it into the car charger (was planning on using GPS to get me to my meeting anyway), and no LED. Tapped power button, nothing. Held power button...nothing. The phone went from working fine last night before I want to bed to being completely toast this morning.

Once I got back home, I've tried the normal stuff; hold power button for minutes, try starting in recovery mode, plug in various charging cables on computer and chargers, pretty much everything I can think of, and she's just completely dead. Checked the charging cables on the old phone I transferred my SIM into temporarily, and all that is fine, so it's pretty definitely the phone.

Anyone have ANY ideas what I can do in an attempt to resuscitate the thing? Naturally, I do NOT have a recent backup of the phone (photos not moved to SD card, TitaniumBackups of the apps, et al), so I'd really like to exhaust all efforts to get it running one more time. The back is off, I am not afraid to tear the thing apart (although can't find a disassembly video for this, only for the Life One X which should be similar).

I would sincerely appreciate any thoughts and suggestions.

The possibilities include a failed battery, a faulty power button, or a problem with the motherboard. The first thing you could try is to replace the battery, if you can find a good DIY video on YouTube.

Ordered a replacement battery from fleaBay; while as I mentioned there is no tear-down video for this model, there is one for the Life One X...also found a pictorial teardown for this model that only goes to disconnecting the battery, not removing it. But between the two, should be ok.

Will report back after the battery arrives; thanks for the suggestion!

Well, there's a thing.

Received the replacement battery, carefully tore down the unit...while removing the old battery with a hair dryer and straining the double-sided tape, I did pull the power switch out of its position, which required removing the side rail (ALSO glued - these folks do love their glue!) to re-place it. But otherwise, battery removal/replacement was no real problem. I did NOT glue down the new battery, in the event I need to remove it. I even shot the procedure with a tripodded video camera, and if I get some time might clean it up and post it to my blog for others to reference.

Unfortunately, there's no change in my phone's behavior. There is still no red LED when the power is plugged into the USB port, and no boot. There is a component on the motherboard with a metal heat sink that gets warm when the power is plugged in, but other than that I can find no difference between power and no power.

I sincerely hope someone can come up with something else I can try to get it running enough to remove some things from the internal memory, but I suspect it isn't looking very good...
