BLU VIVO XI ring tone problems

I have used Zedge ringtones on all my android phones with no problem but it won't work on my new BLU VIVO XI. I have tried downloading them and using file explorer to move it to ringtones but it just won't work. The phone will only ring when using the phones own ringtones. Can you tell me how to fix this? Are you moving the sound file to the /Ringtones directory on Internal Storage, or the SD card? Make sure it's Internal Storage.

Yes, I moved it to internal storage and it just won't work. Never had this problem before.

Using a file manager app, look in the /Ringtones directory, and make sure there isn't a file there called ".nomedia".

Try creating that directory using the file manager app, then putting the ringtone file in there.

Hmm, not sure if it's something specific to that phone's firmware, or if it's a bug. Try wiping the cache partition: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/blu/blu-vivo-xl/recovery-mode/

Give the steps a try. Typically, all of the phones from one manufacturer use the same steps to reach the Recovery Menu.

Did that and it worked temporarily and then it stopped working again. Very strange.

Does it also happen in Safe Mode? If not, then some app you installed is probably causing this issue. You'd have to uninstall apps one by one to figure out which one.

No, it didn't happen in smart mode. I will go through the apps and will let you know what happens. Thanks

Went through the apps and I'm not sure which one it was. I just uninstalled everything I don't use and took a chance then tried setting the ringtone and it worked. Luckily I didn't have to go any further. Thanks so much!!
