After a little fumblilng around, I figured out how to move and remove (some) icons from the screen pages but I'm looking for a couple of more things.
First off, the "grid" icon that displays all of the apps whether they have shortcut icons isn't present in this OS version. In searching for help on finding it, the only suggestions I found involved using a replacement launcher.
Has anyone done that? And if so, do you have a recommendation? And if I install an aftermarket launcher and don't like it, can I get the original one back? I'm sure I'll learn to live without the "all apps" grid sooner than later, but it's a useful feature.
Another thing that I'd like to do is make the equivalent of a Folder that, when I click on its icon, displays several icon apps that can launch from there. For example, I'd like to have one icon on the screen named "Airlines" and when I click on that icon, it presents the United, American, Delta, Southwest ... app icons.
I read an instruction on like that described what I want to do - it said to drag one icon on to another, but moving one icon on top of another here just moves the "bottom" one out of the way, even on the "pinched" icon-arrangement screen.
[Added later] I discovered that if I put an app icon in the "apps drawer" (the four icons that are present at the bottom of every desktop page) I'm able to drag other app icons on top of it to make the folder I was looking for. The name becomes "Folder" but clicking on the name brings up the keyboard and it can be renamed ("Hotels" for example). The pile can be dragged anywhere else on the desktop, and temporarily dragged back to the apps drawer to put other apps in the folder.
