Blue tooth voice dialing on Epic with DK28

BT voice dialing while running 2.2 DK28

Bump.. Has anyone currently running 2.2 DK28 , having success with voice dial over Bluetooth headset?

I'm running midnight 3.0 and I use blueant bt headset. I tapped my headset and a bluetooth voice command cam up on my epic. problem is that the volum was soft so it was hard to identify it as a bluetooth voice command but I saw it pop up on my screen. it worked afew times. not perfect for me or maybe I need to play with settings

Thanks for the reply, I just bought a Blueant T1, the set up voice is loud and clear for me, but everytime It prompts me to say a command, I say a command "Call Home" and it cancels & nothing happens.

I already loaded my contacts on the Bluetooth, it does identify the in coming caller ID so that is nice, it plays music and Nav instructions through BT ear piece, only thing I can't get to work is the voice dialing..

So far I like the BlueAnt better than my plantronics discovery.

I misplaced my discovery and had some BB reward points so i went ahead and puchased the Blueant T1 which is on sale now, it claims to integrate well with Android.
I am running 2.2 DK28 I thought a feature of Froyo was ability to voice dial over bluetooth....

Yeah. I was kinda hoping for this too. It sucks that my old school Samsung Rant had the ability to dial over bluetooth headsets but this kick@$$ Epic 4G can't... I mean really?

Sent from my Epic 4G

Blueant has an android app you can download but all it does is read your text messages audibly. I think that's what they mean by it "integrates well with Android."

I have the Q1 which is what I tested it with. Since my experience I have not gone back to using is for bt voice dial. My Q1 does allow me to store up to 8 numbers that I can voice dial which is using the Q1 software vs. Android. For the most part, it's all I need.

I'm using a Blueant Q2. My Epic has DK28 and Truly Epic Rebirth. When I attempt to using the voice dialing, the headset says, "Activating your phone's in-built voice commands on the connected phone." Then a second or two later it reports: "This feature is not supported on the connected phone."

Maybe there'll be an improved bluetooth stack and other bug fixes when (if?) the official Froyo update for the Epic is released. /shrug

I have motorola h721. It worked for voice dial on blackberry. I understand that Froyo is supposed to make this work.

DK28 seems to be bluetooth audio enabled but no voice dialing. I'm hoping that is something that will be fixed with the Official froyo release. It isn't a bluetooth device problem it seems to be a dk28 problem.

"Phone". When you say "Phone" it goes into pass-through mode and you are talking to your phone, which, in a perfect world, would have the ability to accept voice commands.

Thank you for the replies.. Froyo was touted as having Voice dialing over bt capabilities.. so I expect DK28 would support this..

Not abig deal but would be nice if I had it.

btw I am happy with the Blueant T1 it is solid device, good sound quality, a dedicated hardware on/off switch, & supports A2Dp for streaming music or Nav instructions..
I like it better than my Plantronics Discovery which cost me $50.00 more than the T1..

I was able to voice dial over my Bluetooth last night (Jabra BT5020).

On my Lotus, I used to do a
long press to activate the voice dialing. So last night on the DK28, I tried the same thing. I saw the 'Bluetooth Voice Dialer' pop up on my phone, 'starting up', and then changed to 'listening'. I thought I heard something in my headset, but it was so soft I wasn't sure. I tried again and VERY faintly, during the 'starting up', I heard a female prompt say "Speak Now". I said "Call Paul Mobile" when it went to 'listening', and the call actually went through.

So I guess it works for me, but I can't really hear the prompting all too well. Maybe the key is starting to speak just after the prompting?
