Bluetooth 5.0 software update soon?

Nice if ends up being true:
"HTC's flagship should have been one of the first smartphones to feature Bluetooth 5.0. Unfortunately, for some reason, the Taiwanese company was unable to add the new technology into the HTC U11 at launch, as the smartphone still uses Bluetooth 4.2.

However, it looks like HTC has changed its mind and has decided to update the U11 to Bluetooth 5.0 in the not so distant future. According to FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing, HTC plans to “enable Bluetooth 5.0 by software without any hardware change.”

Nice if it's true, I know the Motorola Z2 force will launch with Bluetooth 4.2 and enables Bluetooth 5 with Android O update in the fall.
Not sure if HTC is planning the same with U11, enable Bluetooth 5 with Android O update in the fall or send an update much sooner. I hope it's the latter.

Y'all do know that even if a phone has Bluetooth 5 it still isn't supported by Android yet

Yep, but most likely will be supported within next year or so, if not sooner
