Anyone having issues with phone book not reading on 2012 or newer Audi? I can get the phone and bluetooth audio working but phone book doesn't transfer to car.

I can confirm this as an issue as well on my 2012 Audi A7 (Prestige with Bose). Also people say that the Bluetooth audio is very difficult to hear.

I synched it with my Ford Escape and it doesn't sound clear.

I read that this was an issue with the HTC One X+ as well.

Confirmed. I am having the same problem with my 2013 Q7. I have the Razr Maxx HD. I did have the Samsung Note 2 for awhile and it worked great with that phone.

It seems to be an issue with VAG group headunits/BT. A lot of people are having problems getting the phonebook to sync (I am having the same problem on my One and the Sensation before it). I've been told that it's something to do with more recent versions of Android not supporting rSAP although whether this is true or not I don't know.
I've found a way around that works for me though (the phone interface of my headunit is not the best either) and have bough a Brodit holder - when I put the phone in it I activate the "Car Mode" on the handset and I can access my phonebook through that a lot better than the headunit would allow.
