My preference is not to enter these manually but. does someone have a suggestion on a good piece of software that will allow me to transfer my contacts via Bluetooth to my car? I got a free app on the market but I am not sure where the contact file is on teh DROID nor am I sure how this will transfer.

Thanks

Currently it is not possible to do what you are requesting. The bluetooth profile required OBEX is not on the droid. hopefully the dec 11 update will fix that.. if not currently non of the bluetooth programs on the market are compatible with the droid to do what you want. I have the same bluetooth system in my lexus and had NO luck!

i finally got it to work on my pioneer bluetooth navigation unit. i downloaded the program bluetooth file transfer off the market. there was an update recently that made this work. i dont know what kind of radio you have or how to set yours up but i will tell you how i did it. i had to connect to it through bluetooth and then go to the menu item that i had to on the radio that said transfer contacts and then open up the program on the phone and connect to it through that program and then go to the contacts file in the program and press menu select all and then pressed send contacts. this worked for me and it might be different for you i dont know. and believe me i spent a while trying to figure this out. i heard that the update coming up will make the phone able to do it without a third party app. and it didnt put the contacts in alhabetical order but i got them all on there. hopefully an update to the app will put them in order.

i stand corrected. i guess they finally updated their app. i will install now and try and get back with results

RESULTS:

Well it now finally is compatible with the droid and the send contacts actually shows all my contacts on the phone and transfered them to my lexus.. unfortunately it only transfered 30 or so of my 200 contacts and it was random contacts. not sure why it picked those ones but mebe there is a way i inputed them into the phone? anyway still not 100%

vsugorilla9,

I saw that you have a Pioneer nav unit. I have a Pioneer Avic D3 that would not connect with my windows mobile device until I purchased a 3rd party patch for my phone. I was about to purchase the Android Rumor but it would not connect with my Pioneer unit.

Is your Pioneer unit an avic d3? Were you able to connect at all prior to installing the file transfer program? My current phone dying but I don't want to purchase a phone that will not connect with my stereo.

Thanks for your help!
