Bluetooth headset battery icon

Okay so I've gotten a pixel 2 and I am using the Sennheiser HD 4.40BT Bluetooth headset. So when I swipe down on my notifications to fully expand it it tells me the battery percentage of the headset but why doesn't it show a battery bar next to the Bluetooth icon in the top notifications bar? And how do I get it to do so?

Because there's only so much that can be packed into that space? If there was a battery icon included in the space of the Bluetooth icon it'd be so small the info would be useless, and adding it next to the icon as another would just clutter that space more. I'm not sure if it's possible to add that, even if through a 3rd-party ROM on the phone.

That's understandable however the icon would show up with my OnePlus 3T's notifications bar and when I search it up it seems that it does show up on other Pixel 2's as well.

I've not heard of that.
