Bluetooth headset disconnects on outbound calls

When i receive an inbound call it automatically connects he call via my Jawbone Headset. When make an outbound call by default it's coming through the speaker, when i click the "Bluetooth" button the bottom i can't hear anything through the phone or the headset. I have to turn the headset off and back on in order to get it to connect to the phone. Any one know what might be causing this or how to fix it? I'm running on ultimate droid 8.0 if that helps... it was doing it when i was on stock 2.0 and smoked glass too though. Thanks.
