Coming from an iPhone 5, I have been using a Polar H7 Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor to track my fitness work outs but sad to find that there is no support from Polar for the Nexus 5 or Android. Even my fave app Digifit doesn't offer any support either.

The question is, does anyone know of a Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor that will work with the Nexus 5?

Thanks
Chris

yes that one does. the problem on android at the moment is software support in the apps. i came from GNex and had the same problems (it also supports BT4LE). the only app that i can consistently get working is runtastic, but that app imo sucks though. it is "supported" in cardiotrainer, runkeeper and even google my tracks, but it never worked well on GNex. i'll try it out on N5 later and report back. I've been too busy with activation, setup, etc. to test out the H7 on my N5...

Given that the total universe of Android devices greatly exceeds that of iPhones, the only explanation is that the manufacturer has determined that only Apple devotees are self-obsessed enough to warrant monitor app development effort. :)

The Endomondo app has had support for Polar monitors for a couple of years now.

I've been using the Zephyr HxM chest strap with the very basic and free Heart Rate Montitor by Fuzzymonkey and that combo has been working great for me. Much better than the old Polar chest strap/watch HRM. I'm sure there are better apps available but that one does what I need.
