Hey all...i need some of your expertise to help me resolve this issue. So last week after getting in a minor fender-bender, I took the car into the shop and it got fixed up. Unfortunately, they pulled the battery and most of my system car settings were lost. My phone connection was still there, but when I received a call, I'd hear absolutely nothing.

When I'm in the car, I have my phone hooked to my aux input and am listening to radio.com, pandora, or whatever. When a call comes in, it will interrupt the media and answer the phone. I'll be able to talk hands free, etc, etc. Then when I hang up, it goes back to my regularly scheduled programming.

Well I unpaired the phone from the car, rebooted the phone, deleted the phone from the car's list of paired devices and rejoined everything. Same thing...silence. I can see the phone makes a BT connection to the car, but there's just no audio. I was able to get it to work only once...and that was when I had the phone NOT hooked up to the aux input.

When I upgraded my phone from LJ7 to MA6, I had to simply redo the pairing between car and phone...then all worked fine. Now I can't get anything working like it should.

Any ideas? BTW...my car does phone audio only, no media streaming.

Well, I think I stumbled upon the reason. There was an update to SoundAbout that seemed to break things on the S3 and Notes2 devices. The dev, David Woods is working on the issues, providing another APK that hopefully takes care of it. I haven't tried using my phone while connected to the car and aux line. Here's the 4-1-1 just for notations sake from his email to me:

The Galaxy S3 and Note 2 seem to be having issues. They have a different Audio Policy Manager.

I am having people try out different versions to track down what is happening.

I am going to include what the versions I send are doing so we can keep track.

It is NOT referencing Bluetooth Service code at all
It is NOT setting MODE_CALL early
It is NOT setting static AudioSystem.
It is using permissions from 2.4.4.
It is no longer muting sound before Bluetooth phone call.
It is no longer acquiring a wake lock during phone call.
It is no longer checking with the Bluetooth service during phone call.
It is holding the audioManager in memory.
It is NOT allowing wired headset with the Bluetooth phone.
It IS setting the mic INPUT settings.

Just another update...life is all back to normal for S3 and Notes2 users with SoundAbout v2.4.7.
----------------------
2.4.7 has all the fixes from going back and forth with everyone the past few days.

The Galaxy S3 has an update audio policy manager that defaults to Wired headsets instead of defaulting to Bluetooth. This means that people can't plug in to a 3.5 Aux port and use a Bluetooth phone. The audio from the phone call will go to Aux port. The app blocks that from occurring.
