Bluetooth Issues

Hey,

Is anyone else experiencing bluetooth issues with the Mate 20 Pro? Got mine yesterday and every time I get into my car it does connect automatically, but only for call audio, not media audio. I have to then go into the bluetooth connection settings and manually flick the switch for media audio which is frustrating, I didn't have any issues connecting to the same vehicle with my OnePlus 6 or Samsung S8 Plus before that. Can't see anything in the settings to make it connect for media automatically.

Has anyone else had an issue with this and found a solution?

Cheers

I think it's the car audio system at times or phone at times I too suffer sometimes connection issue between my BMW 5 series and Note 9...try pairing again..or try restarting the phone

Yeah, tried re-pairing! There's no issues with connectivity as such, it connects pretty much as soon as I start the car, but for some reason only connects for calls, contacts and message info and not media, it's bizarre!

I have Mate 20 X and saw this today (firmware happened to get updated yesterday) and it did connect eventually, it just takes a minute. It was same with my previous phone in my car. What I do notice is that bluetooth seems to sleep if the display is off so that may take longer to connect then. My android wear watch disconnects when I turn of the screen and takes a while to connect again when I turn it back on. I do not see any settings to keep the bluetooth processes awake, which might also help with the car pairing.

EDIT: nevermind. I had incorrectly given the wear app permission to run as it wished (it actually was manually set to not run in background). It is workign for the time being. Will see about the car, because it might actually not connect until I turn on phone for a minute (which I normally do anyway to start a podcast)

I had this issue with the older Mate 10 Pro and the current Jaguar Infotainment System (Jaguar XE), yet with my Renault Clio 4's Media Nav Evolution system it works perfectly fine, it all seems to be system dependent.

It is indeed a car system issue, agreed.

Across all car brands there is not enough unification on Bluetooth versions and phone support. I have found my Renault and old VW Polo to be more accommodating of various Phones vs. the Jaguar XE and BMW X3 infotainment systems that seem to be more picky.

Hmmm... My Mate 20 Pro seems to connect fine. Whereas my ROG Phone needs a bit of flicking. What car are you using or what head unit is it?

Had problems with my Sony Mex 4200BT. After processing the factory reset on this radio, my Mate 20 Pro works fine .
