Hey all,

My question is about Bluetooth and using in privacy mode? On my old S3 and my wife's S5 and her old iPhone we were able to turn the phone off the Bluetooth speakers on the car and use it as a hand held device if we wanted to (ie holding it up to your ear to hear instead of using the cars speakers and mic). (I drive with my kids in the car and often can't hear a darn thing unless the phone is right up on my ear ha ha).

I can't find that type of option on my G3? Does it exist and I'm not seeing it?

Verizon LG G3, still on Kit kat, stock, not rooted. If that matters.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not following the privacy mode in Bluetooth. If you disable the connection from the car audio system it should disconnect the Bluetooth connection and allow you to use it as though you normally would. Is that not happening when you disconnect the connection?

You can toggle between Bluetooth, Speaker, & Normal (phone to ear) from the phone application. IIRC, it's a microphone button near the bottom of the screen.

Sorry,

Let me try to explain a little better.

I haven't had any issues connecting the Bluetooth. It works just as it should. For phone calls, music etc.

What I'm hoping is that I have overlooked an option to allow the phone call I am making or taking run through the ear piece on the phone instead of the Bluetooth in the car.

My old phone, wife's phone and her old phone all had an option to select where the call would come through. Usually by pressing a button (on screen), to put the call in "privacy mode" without disconnecting the Bluetooth.

I haven't seen a way to do that on my G3 so didn't know if I was just missing it or of there wasn't a way on the phone?

Thanks

I will try that next time I am connected.

I have not seen that as an option when I have made calls though.

I will check tomorrow when I am connected to see if it will work.

Thanks!

Ok so today tried it out. There is not a specific Bluetooth or privacy button. Instead if you hit the button marked "speaker" it will toggle thorough the car stereo or your ear piece.

Guess I just assumed it would toggle speaker on or off not which speaker is used.

Hope this helps you guys too!

(Now watch it all completely change with lollipop)

Ironically they added a Bluetooth button in the latest update. Ha ha haven't had a chance to try it out but hopefully it will be more intuitive than it was.
