I was hoping you could assist me on a issue I'm having. I have a Sprint Note 2 Stock rooted. I'm having problems with Bluetooth media streaming. Bluetooth audio only transmits phone call audio. I had streaming working for a day or so but now it only comes out of the speaker on the back of phone. I tried 3 BT head phones and my new JVC car radio. If you could please point me to the right direction I would appreciate it.

i have the same issue. And not only with media - with any application that streams a2dp (quality audio). I use a Nexus4 with android 4.2.1
looks like an anecdote but I had this issue 3 years ago with an iphone but they fixed it long ago.

Try this. Go to stock music player after you have a solid bluetooth connection with said device. Stsrt playing a song. Hit the settings button and the very first option should say via bluetooth. That should switch thw audio from the speaker to bluetooth

+1 for player settings but also, in the BT settings, select the settings icon to the right of your paired device. It will show Call audio separate from Media audio. I have noticed that my Icons will not allow selecting media audio but only call audio..

Not sure if this will work, but have you tried unpairing and re-pairing the bluetooth connection with your car?

Have you found a solution for this yet.....because I am having the same exact issue. At first it was working just fine. both boxes are checked under call and media....I just really need some help.

I've found it to be highly dependent upon the Bluetooth device one is using. I have no trouble listening to media on an Emerson stereo headset, nor a Samsung headset, nor on a Kia Sorento stereo system. But BT headsets from Motorola didn't work, even those labeled as a2dp. Bluetooth handshaking is very tricky.

But the thing is, these exact headsets have been working for a month on the same phone. They are LG HBS-730's and have not received any damage due to rain or shock. I've also tried to pair another Motorola Bluetooth headset and get the same problem. If some does find a fix, please reply to this post or PM me and I will gladly pay you in a thousand thank-yous'.
