Bluetooth won't play. Nav on car speakers

Why won't my galexy s8+ play voice over my radio on my new Subaru ascent. I have the Bluetooth checked to play voice over bluetooth on my nav. Settings on my google maps. When I play the test sound it try's to play. I see the little speaker showing it's being played but no sound comes from car or phone

For your bt, is it set for mefia and phone or just phone?

Google maps has been borked since like last year. There used to be an option for 'play nav over bluetooth or phone speaker' but they've since removed it, and only play over Bluetooth. However in any car I've had, the voice just does not play over Bluetooth no matter what.
