Where is the shutter speed control for this camera?
After hearing so much about the Galaxy S6 camera being the best cell phone camera ever I had high expectations coming from the HTC One m7. While it is a very good camera it is pretty bad or very bad actually when it comes to moving objects. Trying to take pictures of a young scampering puppy resulted in blurry non-share-worthy pictures. So how do you take good non-blurry pictures of kids or animals? It's not easy. My first instinct was to use the bust mode like I would with the M7 which produced sharp action pictures. This didn't work. It does take 30 pictures rapidly but every last one of those 30 pictures are blurry when there is rapid movement of your subjects. How is that even possible? It is taking the pictures so fast the shutter speed would have to be quick; right? So I downloaded the sports camera mode thinking this would solve my problem. It hasn't for a few reasons. For starters most times when you launch your camera it is not in the last mode you used. It is in the auto mode, so you have to switch to the sports mode and then focus and then hit the shutter button and then experience some unfortunate lag and then notice you have a nice tack sharp picture with your subject half out of the frame. Or you missed the moment entirely 9 times out of 10. Okay that didn't work but what if I use burst mode in sports mode? Hold down the shutter, then frame up the action...that will certainly capture the moment. ? Nope, in sports mode burst mode doesn't work. Seems like a bit of an oversight to me. Okay since I know my way around a real camera the Pro camera mode will be my answer to these blurry pictures right?. Wrong again.
Am I correct that pro mode has adjustments for focal distance, white balance, ISO and exposure, but not shutter speed? I have read articles written by professional tech writers stating that the s6 pro mode has shutter speed control. If that is correct I certainly can't find it.
Sorry if this sounds like a rant but I am honestly confused as to how a camera so widely praised can mess up something so simple. Am I missing something? Or if you have any suggestions for capturing those quickly fleeting moments with kids and pets I would love to hear your tips because I can certainly use them.
Thanks
