Went to my brothers Basketball game last weekend, really the first time putting the camera to the test, and while taking pictures of him, they were comming out blurry for the most part. Yes he was moving, the lighting wasnt the best but had the flash on the whole time. I havent seen any other posts like this so Im wondering if this is just my camera or this is an issue with the phone. I know is a camera in a phone, but if this is an issue than I would like to get this fixed so I dont have to carry around a camera and my phone.
Thanks

I haven't taken action shots. But have taken a hundred or so stills.
I have noticed that if I don't hold steady they come out fuzzy.
After some time to get used to the camera I've had great looking shots.
Waiting the second for the auto focus took some getting used to.

Indoor shots with lots of movement are always going to be blurry with a phone camera, no matter how many megapixels they have. Until they start making phone cameras that can do some digital image processing worth a damn, then this is what we get.

EVO has a **** camera even for a phone camera(all of which suck). Like the poster above says, Megapixels aren't a good indication of picture quality. It's like a car. You can put a V8 in it, but a pinto will still be a pinto. It's good in a pinch cuz it's better than nothing but I still carry my real camera with me when I think I might need it.

I enjoy your V8 Pinto metaphor, but want to add that another problem is that the lens quality has an important effect on the pictures that are taken. Digital cameras from 6 or 7 years ago still took pretty decent picture (at least the higher end ones) because there was a lot more quality in the lenses. Actual quartz or glass lenses that were formed and polished vs. plastic on the much cheaper digital cameras and cell phone cameras today.

In fact, because of improvements in pixel count and digital processing the lens quality for most consumer cameras has dropped significantly without improving picture quality.

Also try cleaning the lens, from time to time there might be finger prints on it and this will effect the quality of your image. I've found this to be true many times for myself.

I second this comment. Took a lot of pics that were coming out blurry, flipped the phone over to see tons of finger print oil all over the lens.

Also I use Vignette and it's Steady Shot option which won't take the pic until the phone is not moving.

What is needed is an app that over-rides the shutter speed so you can control it manually. At concerts and such where the stage is lit well but the rest of the area is dark or where you have back-lighting, the evo tries to out think the situation.

Some apps have a burst mode that can help at times but that is still not what is needed.

Try changing the iso settings to the lowest

Yes that's a good trick as well with the stock camera application. The advanced ones don't seem to have that though. Still we need better exposure control including shutter speed and i would think it must be possible.

Sent from my Evo - so there!
