Bombarding Notifications

Is there a way to stop the onslaught of notifications every time I turn on my chromebook? The chromebook is not a phone, and I don't want it to act like one either. When I turn it on after having been off for a day or so, I get EVERY SINGLE notification that I've gotten on my phone from the apps I have downloaded on both devices (gmail, hangouts, best buy app, etc). I've already gotten and responded to or cleared all those notifications as they come into my phone throughout the day(s), then when I turn on my chromebook, every single last one of those notifications comes through AGAIN! I wish there was a way to make it so only notifications would populate during the time the chromebook is on and being used. Any suggestions?
