Boot Issues

So last night my phone was just sitting on my coffee table and I noticed that it was restarting (or so i thought). It was cycling through the first white HTC screen then it would vibrate and go blank and do it all over again. I tried connecting the USB cable to my PC and it would still do the same thing and would not connect to the PC.

I have a stock ROM and it is not rooted.

I took the phone to verizon and they told me there was nothing they could do about it because I did not buy the phone from a verizon store (bought it from a friend who switched carriers). I have the insurance and will most likely use that, but I wanted to see if there was a way to fix it first. I am not a newb when it comes to rooting and flashing either so I know a decent amount about what I am doing but am no expert by any means.

Long story short, has anyone else had any success in correcting this issue?

Can anyone help?

Sounds like it stuck in a boot loop. Did you try pulling the battery out for a minute and restarting?

I tried doing a factory reset but it ends up going back to the boot loop. And yes I have tried leaving the battery out. I left it out all night while I was sleeping and it still did the same thing this morning.

If you are having reboot issues and not rooted u can take it back to verizon and get it replaced

I did take it to verizon last night and since I did not buy the phone from them they said I would either have to use the insurance or buy another phone outright.

It sounds like the phone is a gonner u could try flashing the mr2 update in hboot and see if that fixes it.

Yeah, its definately a gonner. I tried to flash the update too and it said "Update Fail". Guess im gonna have to shell out the insurance money.

Oh well, at least I have an expensive paperweight now.;)
