boot looping & recovery mode won't work

my phone keeps boot looping and ive tried pressing volume up/down button and power button and it gave me three options to choose
- recovery
-fast boot
-normal boot (im not sure if this was the right term)

and i chose recovery mode and after that nothing happened at all. so i just kept repeating it and also choosing the other options but still nothing happened. please help
